wait a minute. dont 10/100 automatically = 10%? Why are you multiplying by 100?

the formula is part over whole = X over 100

where X is expressed as percent.

So 10 over 100 equals X over 100

or isolating X to one side of the equation

10 times 100 over 100 = X

I explained this step by step but when I post it, it does not come out correctly. Sorry! I kinda wasted everyones time, but I hope you still understood.

step 1: 10/100 = 0.1

step 2: 0.1 x 100% = 10%
