You m8ust have missed the sentence "SYP> Spruce yellow pine?""

regardless, obviously you're not a builder.. SPF is crap,, kindling, sponge, waiting for water to soak up, it should be illegal!!, tom foolery for the general public. while Dug fir, is more than two times better..

I've built over 30 years. I've slammed more dug fir than you could count.. I've also had to replace SPF more than I want to count, it's Crap!

Yellow pine,, is a product of Arkansas, and other southern areas , old growth trees , in the least are too expensive for home,,

I lived in the Midwest several years too,, played with many, many old homes built with yellow pine from Arkansas ,, it's dam good stuff. I do not know what SYP is, never played with it, but if it's anything like SPF then it's crap too.

Lumber that's crop grown, is crap compared to old growth.. I've build it up and torn it down,, years and yearx and years and years.. even 1960's cheap #3 grade wood is far superior! some time near the 1960's crop grown lumber entered the whole of market, and it seems to get crappier and crappier ..

Facts are it's grown too quick and cells are to big... might as well be friggen balsa wood.
