One of my friends at HP just loves the way that their stock price keeps heading north. He bought a bunch of the HP 17 inch notebooks to give away as gifts last month. If Dell continues to insist on being an Intel only shop (for system), well then I guess that they're getting what they deserve.
Like I've said, I'd be happy to buy a Dell with an Athlon 64 or X2 chip in it with their 9300 platform.
Chipguy & Wbmw, There are realities to negotiations. It is not unreasonable to at times, be unreasonable. Eg: the diffenerence between the bid and ask after hours.
AMD capacity is scheduled to increase this year. AMD works with alot of mom and pop VAR's. The margins through those channels is probably much better than what AMD could expect to get from Dell.
If Dell becomes a customer there won't be much fanfare. Intel will suffer if it happens. The boards of Dell and Intel don't opperate in a vacuum. Allot of consideration must be given both ways.
