Apple needs to sell 100 million iPods in '06 to maintain the growth rate priced into the stock. 40M isn't "conservative", it's the nightmare scenario.

Can they do it? Seems like a ridiculous number, but then, a year ago 14M in one quarter also seemed a ridiculous number...

I'm betting AAPL sells 55million iPods of all flavors this year. That may be a conservative estimate but with all such gadgets the winds of fate are fickle.

I am guessing though that this Vingle craze has just begun and the uses for those vPods will continue to grow in all sorts of crazy directions.

Using vPods as portable/rewritable/updateable training guides, tour guides, etc. People can download their dating videos, their tv shows/news feeds for the commute on the train/bus home. Pocket translators with the words, pictures, and audio for when traveling overseas.

And of course, that great mover and shaker of consumer technology: Pr0n!!!!!! Pr0ncasting to your vPod.
