All good ideas but the technologies that did make their way into homes - PCs desk top printers microwaves etc are all every day usage.

the examples you talk of are occasional usage.

Print them at your UPS/7-11 store.

Unless the cost (particularly of the materials) reduces dramatically.

Inkjets only need 3 cartridges, how many plastics metals etc will you need for your 3D printer?

There will be an early adopter market even for homes but not sure there is a real target (Bowling pin) to cross the chasm. (Geoffrey Moore)
