"Merom slips, runs hot, & its future platform is defeatured."

Other than that, it looks good...

chipdesigner,

Also, the platform is unlikely to be capable of running HD video through hardware decoding. For example, ATI is expected to have such a feature available for mobile platforms through its RS600 chip sometime in 2006, while Intel apparently will not support hardware HD video decoding until 2008, sources indicated.

Who needs HD until 2008? Are there any titles that have been released yet? Do you think movie studios will stop releasing their movies on standard DVD? There is absolutely no need for HD, until Intel has it.

I think we need a couple more sources before we can assume Merom/Conroe/Woodcrest is in some trouble. Most sources to date have said it is on track or ahead of schedule. I would love to believe this article that Merom won't be out until September and then only at 2.33Ghz because it would allow me to hold my long term AMD position longer. My only fear is Intel's next gen cores, and if they are showing some signs of problems, then AMD is in the clear for 2006, 2007, and probably beyond.

If AMD maintains their performance lead in desktop and server and is at least somewhat competitive in mobile, I can see the stock trading $75-100 by this time next year. A few more signs that Intel's next gen. isn't as good as hoped for Intel, and the $75-100 may happen even sooner.

Yeah, more FUD on your part. You wish all this was true and you, and the writer has absolutely no idea what will happen out in 2007. For one, Intel is capable of solving all of these (so called) problems by that time. The real danger for AMD is that Intel is so capable of ALL of these things. You should sell, now! Take your profit and run.
