While this morning’s press release was short on details, it was very exciting. The Big Red fiber approaching the strength of natural spider silk is substantial news!
If Big Reds tensile strength, is as strong as Spider Silk then –KBLB- has hit the jack pot and will be able to produce the world’s strongest fiber at a reasonable cost.
I am sure the company will be having more tests run on this fiber, but depending on how close it is probably 80-95%, this fiber could instantly change the dynamics of the company.

“KBLB” Could be producing Monster Silk for around the same price as Regular Silk!
Depending on yields Silk can cost $40-60 per kilo to produce
If Kraig is able to make sustainable production levels of the world’s strongest fiber for almost the same price of Silk, this would drive many companies to consider using the company’s technology.
We know Spider Silk is strong, but it also has other properties, such as its ability to absorb energy. When tests of the Big Red are finally conclusive we may see this product beat out many of the world’s top fibers being used today. While savings to the bottom line from using “KBLB’s Silk Fiber could be substantial, it may also dominate this market from a performance basis.
(KBLB) already leads it’s market by having what we think is the best design to produce this product, they have spent a fraction of what any typical Biotechnology company would have spent to complete the R&D phase.
