Disunity kills .. no real Palin, Bachmann or Rand Paul types .. lol .. makes our change relatively serene .. no surprise as it's been expected for a couple of years .. Abbott deserves credit for his persistent after his 1 vote Coalition leadership win awhile back .. he ran a terribly misogynist campaign against Julia Gillard, and had the help during that time by the maneuvering of Kevin Rudd to unseat her .. other than that his campaign was polished and consistent .. the tragedy of Gillard's political career is that she went for prime minister too early .. imo, she should never have challenged Rudd back when she did .. backroom stuff has really hurt the Labor party in recent years .. yes ..

The polishing of Tony Abbott

brought his coalition home .. yup, the environment measures Labor took were not as popular as hoped, but contrary to many reports it was not an important factor in his victory .. they didn't get the message on a number of policies clearly to the community .. it rated in exit-polling at about 7% while instability of leadership and time for a change were up about 17% .. according to one i heard yesterday .. Abbott will not have control of the Senate in his own right, but may have sympathetic minor party people which could give him more freedom there .. Labor on policy i think should be proud of their achievements and focus .. the leadership squabbles no doubt were a real bugbear .. Labor didn't lose as many seats as predicted by most in Queensland and Western Sydney where Murdoch's anti-Labor vendetta .. it was that bad .. was the strongest .. his propaganda push in Queensland and NSW apparently didn't have as much influence on the outcome as many thought they would .. that was a big plus .. lol .. Australians aren't real big on the exaggerated propaganda stuff .. Labor deserved to lose this one ..
