Sparky, no of course they can't disclose all the details but issuing a broad outline of a deal is not far fetched. But, I ask you, isn't putting the name of one of your negotiating partners (presuming they are actually in negotiations with Facebook) into a pr a rather strange occurrence? I would suggest that a more circumspect way of handling things would be to indicate that negotiations - or talks or whatever - are underway with a major corporate entity and that an announcement with details could be expected in the near future (without naming names). It's the concept of publicly discussing private talks for a deal that isn't yet done that concerns me.
In fact, I contrast the hard scientific work being done by Todd - and the type of nuts and bolts announcements he makes - to the other kinds of public utterances issuing from the company. The company in fact seems rather bipolar at the moment, doing the hard science on the one hand and the fluffy commercial stuff that Yummy personifies on the other. I personally prefer the hard scientific approach better. Much more credibility.
