Castro is an anachronism. He thinks in a world that no longer exists. A world in which Union workers were killed by the state and organizers were hung by mobs. Am I concerned that he arrests dissidents? Yes I am. Is he worse than Mubarak? No he is not. Does he even come close to the Chinese?
On the self over my desk is a cigar that was given to me by a guy I know from Panama. It was a gift from Castro to his brother in law who works for the government in Panama. The people I know from Panama would rather have lunch with Castro than with George the Elder. They still haven't forgiven him for what they saw as an invasion of their country.
