This post not only replies to Obiter but also other posters who replied to my original posts.
1. I am well aware Obama is a politician and he may not really mean what he said. He promised to close GB Prison but it still exists. His stance on homosexuality swayed from pro as at before first election to against after first election and then to pro after second election. This is something you either pro or against as a person. So he being a politician means that we should not take everything he says literally;
2. Now, regarding that speech, in those two days afterwards, many people here did their own analysis on the same. They almost unaminously concluded that Obama had NO intention to remove/ liquidize/ eliminate FnF. Instead, they thought Obama had intention to reform, which should be construed as restructured or resized in their opinion;
3. What I posted in the original post seems to tell a different story – Obama acknowledged the sentiment of the bipartisan bill to eliminate FnF. Now he did say “reform” though. That’s the tricky part. The said bill is to eliminate FnF and Obama, while acknowledging it, said essentially to reform the same;
4. My points are –
a. Why were those people so sure Obama had no intention to eliminate FnF? The word reform has a wide range of meaning. One can argue that to eliminate FnF is to reform the same. (I agree the general meaning is to restructure/ resize). Putting the word in context, I don’t think you can ignore the chance that he meant to eliminate;
b. Senate Harry Reid, while acknowledged the importance of FnF, construed Obama’s message as to eliminate FnF, totally opposite to the general sentiment here;
c. So why the difference? Is it the integrity of the said posters? Are some of them pumpers? Are they paid by MMs to screw us up? Is it merely their misjudgment? Or are they simply just blinded by their own wishful thinking?
d. Alternatively, I am more than pleased if any of you can point out anything wrong above that Obama definitely had no intention to eliminate FnF;
5. If anyone wanna reply to this post, please don’t tell me
a. Obama is just being a politician;
b. it’s just a tactics to get people’s attention;
c. I am short;
d. $5 before this weekend!
e. to da moon!!!!!
