You got me. I suppose they're calling him "Don" because JJ is using the Spanish honorific. I was unaware that applied in South America.
I have the distinct impression that they have no clue what he's actually called. Probably they imagine his first name really is "Don". I guess the script people, to the extent that there are any, screwed up.
