When i say Spiber i feel like i forgot how to speak. I do however like that it dose as you say combine spider and fiber.

The way I see it spiber is the word spider with the d replaced by a b.
bd db bbbddd note the fact that these two letters are mirror images of each other.

A person with dyslexia, a cognitive perception confusion, will often confuse these two letters.

The Japanese, because they are not very familiar with the English (Latin, western) alphabet often confuse these two letters.
Also Japanese is written in Kanji (Chinese) characters and in two phonetic forms unique to that language and has often been written from top to bottom, bottom to top, or right to left as well as the modern western style of left to right.

For all of these reasons the two words Spider and Spiber are almost indistinguishable to the average Japanese.

I believe that this confusion is why the Japanese promoters chose Spiber as their name.

I have no clue how it happened in Scandinavia!
