I don't think you need to worry about any short covering rally to pay taxes .But I would get some sleep because you will undoubtedly see a slow night. I hope I am wrong would be nice to see a fast first hour . Will miss most of the day attending a funeral . smagli

Whiteboy: I can't speak for all traders; I can barely speak for myself. But it's my sense that shorts who've done well in 2002 will place the payment of taxes at the bottom of their list and not cover to pay tax obligations. Heck, they can always file for an extension, then another extension. The same is likely true for successful long traders. "The trade is the thing." Example: You're short KDE at 25, you see no evidence of a bottom. Why cover to pay taxes?
