I just got off the phone with Bob Prag, Investor Relations, and he told me that he was unaware of the rounding up/down issue. He seemed appropriately concerned about the fact that the post-split adjustment in shares does not appear to be consistent with the information in the PR of July 19. He said he would speak with the company and clarify what was intended to happen and he indicated the company might have to put out a communication clarifying the situation. It sounds to me like an internal miscommunication has occurred and I am confident the company will provide us with clarification.
What typically occurs, and appears to have occurred in this case, is that the transfer agent rounds to the next whole number.
Therefore, some benefit, others will not. I happen to be one who did not. While I think I'll be ok absent the $3.70 value of the hypothetical half share, others may feel different. Certainly their perogative.
