Easy today, yes.
On several levels, I'm not surprised at that.
1) If Apple included the *final* version of their lock in the developers release - it would give the whole world a head start at cracking it. That would be stupid (but that doesn't mean they still didn't do exactly that).
2) A 'crackable' developer release provides exactly the kind of advertising I was speaking about. Get more people talking about OSX on Intel, then get them to buy it when it comes out.
So, we will see. Maybe I will be surprised.
