HOKUS-POCUS is the most used of all the scam games. Even the old medicine shows used them. Street Hustlers use them. Carnivals have them in great abundance. Along with cotton candy and ferris wheels.

loch/cdex employed HOCUS POCUS at the infamous Washington demo. Fooled a lot of people, including a Congressman after he was slipped a campaign donation but failed to get re-elected.

But failed to impress the news media, who were watching and laughing and if they did submit a story, it got killed by the Editors. Which should have been a clue to the suckers who were impressed.

Filled the CAP'N with awe at a dog/pony show and got him to writing WOWs. But I am sure that the GUDE CAP'N will forgive me for doubting the sincerity of his comments.
