Well..I have been waiting for that mother of all orders from the Bakken for years..Microturbines have been operating in that area since the Hess pilot project of 2005..seems they have to overcome dealing with high levels of sulfur..and if gas-preparation systems are needed they can be costly.. Regretably the value of MTs here is relevant only if there is a use for a significant supply of KWs next to a hole in the ground in the middle of nowhere...
An enormous number of largely unneeded wells were hastily drilled before the "Haliburton loophole" was closed.
this is one of my favorite things about CPST. Though nat gas has typically been directly at odds with oil, oil drillers are using microturbines to power their entire drilling operations :)
