I'll take right instead of right now any day of the week.

Take your time, I'm in no rush. I trust that this wont take 4 months and it also won't be complete in less than two weeks.

Some of us understand what is involved.
Many do not.
I feel your pain.
Every little change seems to takes an eternity.

Good Luck with the launch.

Thanks for jumping in Mr Foley
I can totally appreciate the complexity of the circuit board layout and design
You answered my question/concern about putting out a product that would be replaced in a couple months, agreed, makes sense.
I understand better than most the time it takes to go from design to prototype to production.
I guess the real mystery to me is why did we never see the prototype box of the now obsolete unit? TIA

Then why wait to the day you were supposed to launch to announce the change. I'm sure at the shareholder meeting you were already in discussions about the new chip. Bad timing. A great improvement. Bad timing. The entire board was waiting to buy one just to be disappointed. Changes take time. I feel it should have been handled differently.

DavidRFoley

Let me ask you how many of the first version of the Nuvola 1 do you have on hand? Since it was touted to be so good prior to changing to Nvdia for the new chip, how can one buy one at a discount knowing the new version will be coming soon. We would like to make sure the older version was all as advertised and if it is then we will know the newer version will be fantastic.

Just tell us where we can get our hands on the older model.

David,

You guys are doing an amazing job. things happen but you all made the right call on the delay. Folks are looking for instant profits for their stock buys. They don't have long term best interest in mind for ntek. This is the right move for n'tek. Kudos to you and the team. You could spend 20 hour says and 7 days a week responding to all the yahoos on iHub that are looking to drag good company names thru the mud. Moral of my message: KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!!

we aren't even two weeks past the announcement of switching to nVidia. Expecting us to be shipping a completely new design is not based in any kind of reality.

The switch to a new system design means a completely new motherboard and the only thing that is kept from the old design is a bunch of the software. Once schematics are done, then PCB layout needs to happen. Once PCB layout is done, then prototypes can be made along with mechanical samples. We build our mechanical proof of concept plastics in house with our 3D printing hardware. Once that is done soft-tooling is made to build prototypes. Soft tooling takes a couple of weeks. Once prototypes are done, we can then submit to safety labs for FCC/UL/CE. Once that is approved, hard tooling is made. None of this has had any impact on our 4K content work which is continuing towards a September launch of the 4K channel

You can't simply change the entire architecture of a motherboard and just simply drop in a new chip, it doesn't work that way. This is a completely new design from the ground up.

The original housing does not work with the new board as we have different layout requirements and a new antenna design for the improved wireless components being used.

The company felt it would be very detrimental to go into production with a product that was going to be replaced in a couple of months, and many of our customers would demand a refund on the previous product and based on the support issues surrounding that meant we decided to push out the product until the much improved version was ready to go to market.

I had the first version of the nVidia based motherboard in my hands on Thursday which in itself is incredibly amazing. We have a dedicated team that has been working 20 hour days 7 days a week for the past two weeks in an effort to move to a completely new design, however, people need to exercise some patience and reality with the switch to a new design and have realistic goals about the product development cycle.

DaPathologicalDavey™ is sooo funny. Read this nonsense and then realize that NTEK had ZERO to do with the design of the MOJO motherboard - ZERO. Nada. Nothing. Other than making a new plastic enclosure to put the MOJO motherboard in and call it "NP-1". LOL - "working 20 hour days 7 days a week" - FOR A PLASTIC ENCLOSURE ONLY!!!! LOL! What a LIAR this FoleyClown™ is!!!
