MKTY...been around since 1961. Traded in 2000 for a high of $260 based upon its fuel cell investment. I owned it back then for a trade.
The parent company, MTI which is instrumentation biz, wafer instrumentation balancing and aerospace instrumentation and balancing as well as other products, has a subsidiary Mobion, the fuel cell biz.
Looking to be cash flow positive this quarter... almost $1m in bank and NO DEBT. New CEO to drive sales in the instrumentation division (bread and butter).
Mobion is the fuel cell biz and is a subsidiary of MKTY formed in I believe 2005. MKTY owns 48% with over $50 Million invested in it by MKTY. Detroit Edison (through an earlier fuel cell company) participated in this project.
Supposed to beat the pants off the Ion Battery. (it doesnt overheat or explode) Prospects for commercialization not yet made public by the company, but IMHO could be huge if adopted by one several possible users.
Mobion Fuel Cell (with hundreds of patents file and approved) is lighter than Ion, 3x the distance, runs on renewable methanol, by product H2O and CO2. need I say more? ...humm
Application of fuel cell is endless. IMHO...what would it take to support a Mobion Fuel Cell Electric car?... Just pump methanol into one pump in every gas station and you have instant nationwide distribution. And those promoting natural gas pumps are bragging that there could be 250 natural gas pumps by 2016. Methanol availability could be hundreds of thousands in a week.
The wild card is how far has testing of prototypes, if any, gone.
