The big case is in October vs Apple. This one was a tough loss, but not nearly as vital as the October litigation.

Stock was oversold yesterday. At $3.25 it represents nearly a 5% dividend yield. And with over $160+ mm in cash (I don't have the exact numbers) it's easy to see why value hunters were out bargain shopping early today.

Wi-Lan is litigating an additional 5 cases in 2013.

The negative ruling was unfortunate, but many analysts are calling the drop in stocks an over-reaction.
Although, some think the truthfulness of that statement is debatable, the stock is bouncing back quite rapidly.

The biggest upcoming case is one against Apple in October. Now that Wi-Lan has had more experience in court, it may go more smoothly than the last.

WiLAN also has upcoming suits against Comcast, Time Warner, and Charter Communications. Unlike the previous patent suit this one deals strictly with TV broadcasting. The dispute will be over a patent regarding the broadcasting of data to remote networks and computers, so we can be sure the loss against Alcatel-Lucent will not affect this suit in any way.
