InterCore Energy, Inc.'s SRG Subsidiary Begins Commercial Demonstration of its Alertness Detection Software (ADS(TM)) System

Jul 16, 2013 (ACCESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- After Two Months, Insurance Broker Expands Program by 50%

MAHWAH, NJ, July 16, 2013 - (eTeligis via ACCESSWIRE) - SRG, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of InterCore Energy, Inc. (OTCQB: ICOR), announced that a commercial insurance brokerage company in Canada that had commenced a small scale demonstration of the ADS(TM) System two months ago with trucking company clients has expanded the scope of the test program. The ADS(TM) System is believed to be the only unobtrusive alertness detection system that is predictive, providing drivers and dispatchers with warnings of impending loss of alertness as much as from 45 minutes to 2 hours before the potential onset of sleep.

The ADS(TM) System, in development for more than a decade, utilizes biometric monitoring of 524 points of the driver's eyes, face, and head to evaluate when the performance of the driver is becoming jeopardized. It then alerts the driver and selected third parties (such as trucking dispatch centers or, in private applications, friends or parents) of the impending loss of alertness. The alert is designed to be given sufficiently in advance so that appropriate action can be taken before the driver becomes a hazard on the road. For fleet operators, this would provide sufficient time for dispatch to direct the driver to a safe location to pull off and take a rest.

In late May 2013, a commercial insurance brokerage company in Canada commenced a 100-vehicle test of the ADS(TM) System. In July, based on the results of just the first month, the test was expanded to 150 vehicles. During the first forty days of the trial program, over 600 incidents were reported, the majority of which were in the period of initial detection 45 minutes to two hours in advance. There were also at least 17 "red alerts", signaling that the driver needed to stop for a nap all of which were detected by the ADS(TM) System and confirmed by the drivers.

The test version of the ADS(TM) System technology was deployed in specifically designed and constructed stand-alone units mounted on the truck's dashboard, similar to an after-market GPS system. In the next generation of the technology, currently in the final stages of development, the company plans the ADS(TM) System to be deployed as a smartphone app, eliminating the need for independent device manufacturing and drastically increasing the rate at which the ADS(TM) System can be deployed. In anticipation of the impending availability of the smartphone app, a major insurance company that has been working with SRG for more than five years is planning a demonstration program in Canada starting by January 2014 that could involve up to 80,000 vehicles for which it provides coverage.
