Morsi Ousted: Military Installs Chief Justice to Replace President
Egypt’s top military commander says the army is now in full control of the country and President Mohammed Morsi has been replaced by the chief justice of the constitutional court as the interim head of state.
He made the announcements in a Wednesday night speech — the latest twist in an all-out power struggle inside Egypt that Morsi and his national security adviser are describing as a military coup.
Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi said the country’s constitution has been temporarily suspended and Morsi has failed to meet the demands of Egypt’s people. Adli Mansour will be the new interim leader.
Fireworks and cheers erupted from the millions gathered in Tahrir Square after the announcement was made.
Earlier in the day, an army deadline for Morsi to resolve Egypt’s political crisis expired.

Setback for osama's effort to win swift support from Congress Published: 15 mins ago (FOX NEWS) Sen. John McCain, President Obama’s biggest cheerleader on Capitol Hill for a strike in Syria, said Wednesday that he would not support a Senate panel’s draft resolution authorizing the use of force.
“There are a number of people who are unhappy,” McCain told reporters on Capitol Hill. Asked if he supported the measure, McCain said, “In its current form, I do not.” The decision is a setback for the administration’s effort to win swift support from Congress for an attack. McCain’s opposition is likely a negotiating tactic to win more aggressive language in the resolution. But it’s unclear how far the rest of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will go, with some members worried the resolution goes too far. A vote on the committee level was expected as early as Wednesday.
