you would think your thinking is correct, and in your mind it is and makes sense. In the long run it does. But short term in the pennies it's not as it seems.

lets take redg.

Security Notes
Capital Change=shs decreased by 1 for 5 split Pay date=09/17/2010.
Capital Change=shs increased by 6 for 1 split. Payable upon surrender.. Ex-date=07/19/2012.

I forget off hand but I think the SP was 4.3 times the split 6= .26

But in traders mind the price was still .4 cents. Normally when word comes out that a reverse split is coming the SP will go up. Traders sell before the conversion and right after and goes right back to 4 cents.

Thats what I see in our world. in the big world it works the way you think it should work.
