It's a she, she started
"Hoothollow Kennels" (I tink that's right.) north of me in Ohio and has quite the track record, much national recognition, Nancy Lilliehammer, retired and in Fla. now and still in contact with me via Facebook.

The former wifey and me put down a deposit on a litter she had when they were 4 weeks old, but she wouldn't commit. Something about a 2 nd 'breakdown' around 7 weeks that determines if they are a ring dog or not. Being typical yuppies, we pressed the matter and forced our way in that seventh week and she relented and set up a temporary babies playpen on the grass and dumped the 7 puppies in it. Dawn walked over and one gigundous female worked her way to the front and won her heart. Nancy said their size at this age meant nothing, but she turned out to be 29' at the withers, way too tall for the ring, but we did'int care about no stinkin' beauty contest. We wanted a girl who could hold her own against a rough little boy I got from a bird hunter in the country, 4 mo.s old at that time.

She (Nancy) was instrumental in breeding the agressivness out and the bloodhound back in. In her whelping shed she had a huge, spectacular color poster of a very handsome bloodhound. This naturally drew a question from me and led to an interesting conversation which I may try to recall somewhere down the road. Maybe I'll try to get Nancy to post here?
