Months ago there was a Story about Retail Stores versus the Online Retail Giants. It was in connex with Barnes Noble who was in fight with its Nook versus Kindle from Amazon.
The conclusion was: If you go Shopping into Walmart or another Retailer and you purchase a certain product and you are satisfied, you will purchase this product later on online. Now if Walmart cannot offer it the same way Amazon can, you will lose this Client. Or in case of Barnes Noble. In the past People went to Barnes Noble and bought a book - now you can buy the same book through Amazon and with Kindle you will not have to buy the book you just download it. So BN came out with the help of Microsoft and they build up Nook but the way it Looks already too late. Now you could ask, why Kindle is a success and Noke not. Because customers rate Amazon as the better E-bookstore. All in all it Shows you, if you want to survive you have to give the best online Service to customers.

NOW GOING BACK TO AMAZON: WM simply wants to expand its global-e-commere presence, in Latin America, China and Europ as it vies with international rivals including, Amazon, carrefour and tesco for sales in rapidly emerging online markets.

The younger Generation is not driving with a car to the retail stores on a daily Basis. This maybe true somehow in certain states in the USA, but not in Asia, Latin America and Europe. The shop online and AAPT has products you can constantly order online without driving around with your car to the next retail store.
