Garnick mentioned an interim look in passing on a call, but it was first discussed at the Cowen presentation. CJ's awesome notes on the slides have the reference:
However, it's all been "probably" or "expected" with regards to the interim look. It's probably the most important detail of the most important trial in the company's history. Asking for clarity on the issue as an investor is not asking too much IMO.
As for Piper covering PPHM, the hype has been a little unwarranted. You know that Charles Duncan was with JMP securities for 10 years until last fall, right? They were always keeping an eye on PPHM for ibanking services. Not really a "stamp of approval" IMO but rather a small positive as I see it.
I believe Garnick's comments were way before the PR on the Phase III FDA approval, so it would have been something we asked for but may or may not have received. I'm in the camp that thinks this should have been included in the PR, not revealed by an analyst.
You are correct. Garnick said they would be asking for an interim look. They got it.... more good news.....it could really shorten the time to market...AND dramatically reduce the cost of the Phase III!
