Even a dummy can tell that they could have easily provided backward compatibility but refused to. They still refuse to with 8.1.

I still don't get what you're really asking for. An upgrade to Windows 7 that looks exactly like Windows 7, works exactly like Windows 7, but also has all the Windows 8 features that you'll never use? And you would pay for such an OS, or expect that others would pay for it?
