You can certainly maintain your view on things Parents, but giving of ones time general means working for free.
I'll give my own personal example: I "give what little extra time I have" to an organization who once a month helps out by selling bingo cards, etc at a local charity bingo. The money earned by our group goes to our charity cause. AND, we/I work for free. AND no, I don't play bingo.
So what you seem to be implying is that Rail, is WORKING part time for Nanologix, for PAY.
Which seems to me to be just another way of saying that some guy is out moonlighting on weekends for extra money.
If sales are just ducky as you seem to be implying then why let John go. Could the answer really be that money is so scarce with this company that there wasn't enough cash flow to keep John AND hire new production employees?
As far as a shareholders meeting "MY OPINION" is Bret, is running scared stiff from having one. He knows he has to answer shareholders questions and concerns and based on one delay after another and the secret this and secret that he won't have one. If there was a shareholders meeting you and I know there would probably be a BOD vote and that's the LAST thing Bret wants. The list is very long on shareholders concerns and he doesn't want to answer to anybody.
