IMO The sign the ERHC LOI is consummated and the final contract signed will be when the goat is sacrificed, ritually prepared and served at a feast. This will secure the blessings from the Gods of the region and insure good luck to all.

Ritual sacrifice is still common in Africa and the Middle east and is part of local traditions for thousands of years. Both Muslims and Christians trace the tradition to the time of Abraham.

I heard from a good source Friday's buying was from the crew preparing the goat. I expect a company announcement about successful completion of LOI after the goat is consumed at the feast.

Below is a description of how two goats were sacrificed to insure completion of a Kenyan road project which had been delayed for over 7 years. I know first hand how frustrating such delays can be.

Why didn't we sacrifice a goat or two 7 years ago?

Mvita MP Najib Balala yesterday slaughtered two goats on a road project in his constituency that had stalled for seven years due to legal battles.

Balala said the goats' blood will cleanse the project of any further bad luck. The former Tourism minister said residents of Mwembe Tanganyika, who the road is supposed to serve, need justice.

"Our aim is to get development. We want justice for the residents as some people want to frustrate this project," Balala said while inspecting the cabro road project at Mwembe Tanganyika.

The project was initiated in 2006 before two individuals, Said Saleh and Awadh Saleh, moved to court seeking orders to stop the project.

Said and Saleh claim the land under which the construction of the road is being undertaken belongs to them. The two sued Balala, the Mombasa Municipal Council and 13 other people.

The suit was however dismissed last August after the parties failed to reach an out of court settlement and the two individuals failed to appear in court for the hearing.
