Because TSA is not soliciting for handheld devices at this time.

Thanks B9, but now I am even MORE confused :) :

Those questions were in response to last week's announcement by Smith that they passed all TSA tests for the handheld units:

It sounds like perhaps these are the field tests for their handhelds which were 'approved' but not yet qualified, and were to expire at the end of this month. However, the PR doesn't say that. It says nothing about that. It doesn't say the tests were field tests, nor that they were previously approved, nor that they were going to expire, nor that they are now 'qualified'.

If IMSC is forbidden from getting their handhelds tested for approval under current guidelines, why would Smith be allowed to moved forward to become qualified? Doesn't seem to be adding up..
