Commtouch Software (Nasdaq: CTCH), a specialist in real time anti-spam and virus protection, today announced a contract with a leading South Korean security service provider.
AhnLab (KOSDAQ: 053800) is using the Israeli company's technology to fight spam and protect networks against virus infiltration at all its customers, including over 14,000 corporations throughout Asia.
Seoul-based AhnLab is the ninth-largest anti-virus software company in the world, Commtouch says, and one of Asia's leading providers of anti-virus and content security software and services. AhnLab holds 65% of the anti-virus software market share in Korea. Ike Kim, VP & CTO of AhnLab, commented: "We chose Commtouch as our technology partner for email security in all our markets after ascertaining that the company offers world-leading technologies for both anti-spam and the Zero-Hour virus protection.
"Our rigorous testing confirmed that Commtouch's Zero-Hour virus protection is superior to any other proactive approach. The company's anti-spam technology - which relies on outbreak detection rather than on content analysis - blocks Asian spam better than any other method."
Commtouch won contracts in China for the same reason: it doesn't need to speak Mandarin, its technology spots suspicious code behavior, which is the same worldwide.
