Docrew0,

Nice find on Judge Seeborg. January 17 is right around the corner.

Richard Seeborg was appointed Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court on February 9, 2001. He received his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Yale College in 1978.

Another impressive California jurist. Birds of a feather flock together...

Boilerplate, no doubt, but impressed with the no-nonsense tone of the Settlement Conference Order posted by Docrew in Post 6704:

"...Lead trial counsel shall appear at the Settlement Conference with the parties and with the person
or persons having full authority to negotiate and to settle the case. In all cases in which a party is insured,
the carrier's claims representative and attorney, if any, with full authority to negotiate up to the limits of
coverage shall also attend the Settlement Conference.

Personal attendance by counsel will not be excused under any circumstances and personal
attendance by a party will rarely be excused..."

Just my opinion.
