I don't even know what shareholder dollars means.

Shareholders invest in a company by giving money in exchange for shares. The company has a board and management. The board, elected by the shareholders, entrust management to act in the best interest of the company.

Management has every legal right to utilize corporate funds to operate the business. That means spending CORPORATE funds to advertise, give to charity, raise awareness, etc. so long as management acts in the best interest of the company they are golden.

If management fails to act in the best interest of the company, then that's what laws are for. Piercing the corporate veil is a possibility among other things. Check out the Opus West story.

Bottom line - I have no idea what shareholder dollars means.
