Not true. The chosen location is on the aquifer for Barton Springs. I suspect there is one location no one would complain about, the location where Intel started to build and then abandoned during a belt tightening..


It would be eminently symbolic for AMD, getting unearned
benefit from embracing sloppy seconds after Intel is done
with it.

Nah, it was bought by the state I think for a new courthouse, who, according to the latest news in the Statesman, cannot afford to build a building there, Sooooooooooo... AMD should look at, although ruining the aquifer seems easier for them, I'd rather by in South Austin than in the city, traffic sucks, but hey it's up to amd.
