I don't think it's a paid promo, however with any promo (even unpaid) the stock will go up and then fall. I think that is what we're seeing here with AAMRQ. It appears that it was promoted recently and on top of that we had executives slipping the stock.
I agree. Even with the BK AAMRQ will rise again. And there is no doubt that UAL will merge with them later this year. Price fluctuations will happen, but in the end American Airlines will continue to operate and emerge from BK.
If you have a short term mentality DEFINITELY get out of the stock, but if you have patience for the long term, I believe this will produce and produce and produce.
