A good thing, though, is that efficiency (unlike with MSFT) is extremely high on the list with automakers.

Yes, and they do listen to customer complaints. I have every hope that future models will make the "interior warm-up" more efficient than it is today.

When I bought the two Honda's, we had to fill out these customer satisfaction surveys. The sales manager gave them to me and said, please tell me now if you have any single concern with the dealership or the service. I said, "No, you guys certainly are good."

He said, that's a problem.

His Japanese booses considered "good" as the fifth-worst out of six categories. I looked at the survey and sure enough. Above good, was "very good", "superior", "excellent" and finally, "truly outstanding".

There was only one possibility worse than "good", which was "fair". Poor service is apparently unspeakable in Japan.

So now, whenever my wife asks how her special dessert, etc., was, I have to remember to say, "truly outstanding", or get "the look".

Domo arigato, Honda.
