It means that currently there are more people that want to buy shares = bidding for them than people offering to sell = ASK.
However, LEVEL 2 sometimes shows "100" (or other lower numbers) and then you do not really know if that means 10,000 shares (it is always plus 2 zeros), or more; could happen on bid and ask as well.
Thus, if the bid is that much bigger it indicates a bigger interest in the shares.
