I agree with your assessment 100% and have followed your philosophy except on very rare occasions for some very relatively small portions of my considerable holdings designated for trading.
Imo People who are more concerned about the current problems the company faces should cut back on their investments.
Time and experience have taught me however that if you believe in the fundamentals and news and if your overall perception is good, that it is best to stay invested.
If sheer logic always applied with stocks regarding when to get in and out of stocks, we would all be millionaires may times over.
