Governments (local, state and fed) have been spending money like drunken sailors to buy votes over the last decade. They have succeeded. Hopefully this will come to an end as we (as localities, states and a nation) can no longer afford it. With that in mind, I don't think it matters to UGSI if the economy strengthens or not. Our demand isn't so much dependent on the economy since local and state governments don't have the resources to spend until something is actually broken anyway. Your link bears this out. I think this will be a fact of life for at least a decade.....or two Demand for our product will be based on necessity then, as opposed to overall economic growth.

The second take I get from your link Fred is more effiently run private companies are willing to take advantage of this government ineptidue and are willing to step in and acquire municipal water systems. This helps us as well since private entities have the CapX dollars to invest before something actually breaks. This saves dollars in the long run.

I am probably way off base on my interpretation, but since you asked!
