Michael - This could be possible through any number of business combination transactions - equity purchase, asset purchase, merger or amalgamation. This sort of transaction would be EBITDA accredative for the reason noted below primarily but for many others as well.
I love this release today...
Firstly - They are now looking both inside and outside. Looking to the outside is a key milestone in a turnaround. Early phases of turnaround management keep the leadership team focussed on internal optimization. The fact they are now looking to the outside tells me things internally are progressing well.
Secondly - I love the focus here. They are maintaining their focus on the redefined core business. Not China but key ways to drive the core business. The network optimization synergies here would be multipliers to the bottom line. The benefits of bringing in volume and permutations to network optimization from the outside would be in all likelihood huge.
Whether or not this deal happens or it's another one. Today's PR tells me a great story and supports the undeniable fact that the business is moving forward.
The market is starting to recognize it but when they do full stop... Look out!
