Don't you think that it's logical that this lack of differentiation will show in the sales numbers?

No. Centrino, if you recall had a low power PM, but the real thrill of Centrino was the combination of uP and wireless at low power. It was wireless that was ready to take off and did. Low power was icing on the cake.
As for VIIV, it will be similar. It will eventually have a better uP, but the real thrill of VIIV will be the link to entertainment. One has the think that Apple will be involved. But as I stated before, this has been tried before and has not been sucessful so there is some doubt it can be pulled off as sucessfully as Centrino (TiVo isn't doing well). Note, tho', that Apple has already sold over 1M videos for the Vpod. That may indicate the VIIV is ready for acceptance.
