If true, it is awsome.
If the new strained silicon AMD/IBM have actually brings the P-channel performance up to the level of N channel that would be fantastic. Personally, I won't believe it until I see the data. Has anybody posted the IEDM papers or slides anywhere yet?

Sure, no problem... :)

You see, there is no difference between the capabilities of these two (three with TI) companies to do the same process manufacture. It only takes a LOT of money to do it at scale. For those who manufacture at scale there are some concessions for doing that to minimize risk and maximize profits for meeting market demands. The fact is, is that Intel doesn't have to beat AMD by 20%, meeting is OK. For example, where would AMD be if THEY were more than wbmw's 5% behind? Answer: nowhere.

Adoption of these techniques is coming in everyone's process technology at some node. Let's just say, "it all depends" on when it's most benficial.

All I have is that one line at EE Times. Smaller, faster chips are definitely in the offing. But to say anything more, I need to see the presentation or the paper.
