#272695 RE: Southern Man #272694

MM's are taking a break, it seems, from trading the stock when they widen the bid/ask spread to the point that no one will trade it.

Remember that an MM's job ain't so easy. They have to be buyers when everyone else is a seller and vice versa.

I'm speculating that maybe they got burned recently by being buyers as big sells were coming in during the last few days so they may have let the share price take a pop up to entice new buyers while laying off the action overall.

OR it could also be that they were buyers in the lows and are now trying to unload some inventory by getting some jittery shorts to cover and start a chain reaction with each short covering after the other as the sp gains.

OR they suspect there will be some serious volatility coming up...if Offor participated, sharp upward rise, if not sharp downward fall...and they don't want to be on the wrong side...so they seem to be on vacation for now. Plus it's spring time weather...who wants to be cooped up trading a stock with little volume to begin with, with a wide bid/ask notwithstanding (but actually exacerbating the dry up of trades)

meh. All pure speculation coming out of my ... ahem, pulled out of thin air, I mean.
