Good point. Common shares do have a place in our collective portfolios, and their fate is intertwined with the fate of any preferred shares.

I might have overstated that point, and I actually agree with you now that I think about it !

Personally, I think that commons will have something of value when all is said and done, but I have been more conservative and worked my way up the capital structure this time (I've been burned by being too low on the totem pole in these special situation stocks).

But, you're absolutely right that common shares shouldn't be banned from discussion here... I guess I was really just trying (poorly) to state that posts that are mostly focused on common shares should probably be directed to the other boards.
