Wow! That is quite a post. We have similar backgrounds. Ha! I also made a bunch and lost it foolishly, causing a basic change in investment approach. Similar occupations also.

I appologize for impuning your motives.

Here is an amazing thought though:

We are both still willing to take the occasional long shot flyer on companies like GFCI. Just enough here to keep it possible.

Dr Bill: You are absolutely WRONG about me!

I have NEVER NEVER NEVER put every dollar I had into a Pink!! NO HOW!! NO WAY!! NO SIR!!

The "devastation" (if you want to call it that) experienced only 3 years ago was the result of my investing in a NASDAQ stock, not a Pink! It went from $7 to $100 and back down to pennies!! Sure, I lost BIG (at least for me), but I didn't lose every single dollar I had, because I didn't go out and invest every single dollar I had in that stock. I NEVER do that! Never have, never will! In fact, nobody should!

Once again, I only have 22% of my portfolio invested in GFCI! If I truly thought that it was a "sure thing" (like Cleverrox says), I would be 100% invested in it! O I expect greatness, but not in absolute terms, only in relative terms.

Whenever I say "I KNOW" I actually mean that the balance of my expectations are leaning more over to the side of realization or fulfillment. NOTHING in life is a guarantee, except death!!
