FNMA is trying to shrink to not ensure 90 percent of mortgage risk, but they will be part of the private firms backing mortgages soon.

Yes they will be smaller. But profitable and private. Possibly paying back tax payers by end of year plus dividends.

Political decisions are necessary for change.

That's what the FHA end game sounds like to me.

However, if you listen to the CEO in the Bloomberg interview he sounds like he doesn't know the questions about Fannie Mae's future. also, he took a pay cut to help save the American housing market.
So WHO really knows the future of FNMA? (if THEY don't) right?
