That's exactly why Microsoft tried to patent the very same VOIP lawful intercept tech; however, VP/Digi beat them and everyone else to the punch. Anyone using VOIP intercept technology will now have to answer/pay the owner of the LI patent.

Quick question:

The title of the LI patent is listed as "INTERCEPTING VOICE OVER IP COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER DATA COMMUNICATIONS".

What does the "Other Data Communications" portion of the title represent?

I thought LI only applied to VOIP, no?

They were beat to the punch. Lawful Intercept was submitted 2 years before Microsoft's Legal Intercept
