Re: IAE, TMTA has licensed Fujitsu to produce ICs from its Mie Foundry incorporating LR2 for any of Fujitsu's foundry customers. At this point the tech has been fully transferred from TMTA to Fujitsu, and Fujitsu is authorized and trained to engineer in LR2 without a separate license from TMTA or even the assistance of TMTA. Fujitsu of course has the duty to report to TMTA and pay royalties for production of ICs incorporating LR2.
This is probably correct, but Fujitsu was not involved in the design of the Sun T1, so they have no voice for what gets included as features. All they represent is Sun's manufacturing partner. They will fab the T1 parts, as opposed to TI, who was Sun's previous partner in this regard.
Re: I don't know if LR2 is present in the Sun T1 processors, but it would seem at least a possibility.
