Am interested in Snaper's credentials as a scientist. I did indeed find 4 published papers with his name on them from the Web of Knowledge database. Only one was in a "highly" recognized scientific journal and is give below:

So it seems that the vast majority of his publications have been patents. I don't know where you got the info that he has 600 patents to his name. When I did a patent search I found 107 patents in his name from 1965-2009. Maybe my search missed the ones where he is not the first inventor listed?

Anyway, I will give him props for all the patents he has written and had accepted.
